It takes courage to confront a violent partner. If you are being abused,
we can obtain a Court order to make him stop. Often the Court will make an
emergency order without hearing your partner's side of things. Family
violence affects children, and we can an order protecting them as well as
you. The Judge may attach a power of arrest to the order, so that the
Police can arrest your partner if it is disobeyed.
Maybe you have been, or are on the point of being, driven from your home by
a violent partner. We may be able to obtain an order to keep you in, or
restore you to, your home
and making your partner leave or stay away.
"Partner" here includes husband or wife, but it does not matter if you are
married. And the Court can act if you are being assaulted by another
family member. Whatever sad story of abuse you have, we are here to help
and represent you, and to make sure the Court gives you the effective
protection of the law.
