Homelessness

Our Homelessness Department represents homeless people who need council housing and claim to be in priority need. They may have children or be pregnant, frail, physically or mentally sick, fleeing viiolence or have just come out of care. We point them in the Council's direction, write to support their case, obtain any supporting evidence, and can seek a review if the Council rejects their application or insists the accommodation it has provided is suitable. Where the Council reaches the same decision on its review, if it is unsound we appeal to the county court. And where the Housing or Social Services Department refuse to provide immediately needed housing, in certain cases we can apply for judicial review and an injunction, even in the evening when the Court has closed its doors.

The firm has an excellent record in this specialist area of law, and has been involved in High Court and Court of Appeal cases which have been written up in the law reports as they established new points of law.
